Here at MOPS, we are on a mission to celebrate motherhood.
We build circles of women who love each other like family, because raising humans is beautiful and hard, and having each other to lean on is life-giving. That’s why we connect moms in our community who meet together to laugh, cry and embrace the journey of being a mom.
This is motherhood, and together we can change the world in all the best ways.
What To Expect at a MOPS/MOMSNext Meeting
Each meeting provides an inviting environment where women can come-just as they are-to build friendships, be encouraged and gain practical strategies all while their children are lovingly cared for in the MOPS KIDS program. A typical meeting starts with fellowship by sharing breakfast together. There is usually a craft, project, or speaker on a motherhood topic. Discussion groups allow you personal time with a smaller group of moms to share ideas, thoughts and experiences. Each group will have a mentor mom who is there to encourage, mentor and give us practical advice based on their experience and wisdom.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until noon.
Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
What Else You can Expect
Westport Baptist Church MOPS/MOMSNext wants to provide as many ways to encourage and equip moms of young children to realize their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus. We will provide more opportunities, other than meetings, to get to know the moms in our group and invite new moms to join. There will be a Mom's Night Out at least once per month. Activities may include, but are not limited to: bowling, craft night, dinner, painting. MOPS moms and kids may want to get together for playdates, such as the park. Community activities and lunch get togethers will be planned for MOMS Next. Moms may also get involved in our church Bible studies, which also provides childcare. You will also be added to our private Facebook group page.
We look forward to meeting you!
This ministry will operate according to the beliefs of WBC as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 of the SBC.
