In order for MOPS/MOMSNext to reach the mother's of our community, we will need women to volunteer.  We need childcare workers in MOPS Kids to stay with the kids during the MOPS meetings.  This is only once per month.  We will also need mentor moms for every 6-8 moms.  Please be prayerful about how you can help.  You will be making a difference in the lives of these women.

The Purpose of Mentoring

Titus 2:3-5 outlines the biblical calling of a mentor. Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God. (NIV)

The Purpose of Mentoring A mentor is someone who walks a few steps ahead of us. As the MOPS Mentor, you bring perspective on mothering, womanhood and relationships — all based on biblical principles and your own life experience. Through teaching and one-on-one relationships, you communicates with vulnerability and honesty. You provides a foundation for acceptance, trust and a safe place to grow. You are a cheerleader, a comfort and a living testimony that it is going to be okay.

The MOPS Mentor is a woman who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. You are able to mentor mothers of young children, not because you have all the answers, but because you have a strong relationship with Jesus and as one who has experienced many of the challenges these young moms now face, you offer encouragement and hope.

A mentor continually seeks God in fulfilling the challenge of being a teacher, role model, counselor, friend and advisor to the MOPS group.

As a MOPS Mentor, you are a woman of significant influence and one of the keys to a healthy, thriving MOPS group.

MOPS KIDS is our childcare program that takes place during our meetings so that moms can enjoy their MOPS experience, while their children are placed into the loving and dedicated hands of our staff.  Their child will experience a preschool like setting with age appropriate activities to foster their development in a fun and engaging way.  The ages we will need volunteers for are newborns to kindergarteners.
