Upward families, please read the exciting opportunity below.

Hey there parents of Upward. My name is Jason Victory, I have been an Upward coach for the past 3 years and I am also the Pastor of Families and Students here at Westport. We have some exciting news for your 2nd through 4th grade boys!  

After many years of Upward recreational basketball, Westport is starting 2 Spring/Summer competitive AAU teams. One 2nd grade team and one 4th grade team. 

These teams will be coached by Jason Victory (current 2nd grade coach) Josh Allison (current Upward NBA coach) and Jason Bradfield (Upward director and coach in K5/D-LEAGUE). This is a great opportunity in between seasons, and to keep active in basketball after the Upward season.

This will be a youth basketball organization dedicated to changing the culture of youth basketball and glorifying our God. Kids deserve an environment in which they can grow and develop in a positive Christ honoring way. The current competitive youth basketball climate has grown in a direction that no longer focuses on the game of basketball and developing fundamentals and we seek to develop each individual player for their success along with the success of the team. 

Our boys will be playing other competitive teams from all across the state. Many of the teams we will be playing against are top teams in the state while some will be ranked nationally. Our goal is to not only be able to play alongside these teams but put a competitive team on the floor to win those games.

With that being said, we will be hosting tryouts on FEB 28th from 6-7PM. Players are encouraged to arrive 15-30 minutes early to get themselves warmed up and ready to begin promptly at 6pm. An optional parents meeting will begin at 5:15pm that evening to discuss any questions that you may have.
